Ofer Levy is a sabra (native Israeli) from Jerusalem who grew up in a secular home but was Bar Mitzvah and celebrated holidays and Shabbat with his grandparents. Ofer was well aware of his Jewish heritage and the Bible but he did not accept it as God’s Word or attribute any divine significance to it.”
Having a self-centered and ungrateful heart, Ofer realized he was headed for destruction and only God could “save myself from . . . myself!”
Sarah had been raised in a Messianic home and had rededicated her life to the Lord. When Ofer decided he wanted marry Sarah Jesus became even more of an issue for him to face.
In 2004, God healed Ofer’s broken heart and planted in him another desire—to know more about Jesus: Ofer read the Gospel of John and believed Jesus’ promise to set free anyone who trusted in Him.
Ofer and Sarah spent a year in N.Y., training for their work with JFJ. They live in the San Fernando Valley with their two young sons, Ely and Matthew. Ofer is in a 4-yr. program at Masters College under the mentorship of Dr. Turya Zaretsky, one of the JFJ’s founders. Living in a community heavily populated by Jewish families, witnessing  for Jesus remains a big part of their daily life. Almira Community Church joined Ofer’s support team in April 2010.
